Choose your county
Beaches are organised by coastal county. We are building county-by-county in order of visitor demand — Kerry first.
One visit, the whole coast
Every beach page links to nearby walks, places to stay, pubs, golf and audio stories across the RambleIreland.ie network — added automatically as each county guide is built.
How we rate water quality
Water quality classifications come from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ireland, which monitors 150+ designated bathing waters every year and rates each as Excellent, Good, Sufficient or Poor. Blue Flag status is awarded annually by An Taisce. During the bathing season (1 June to 15 September) real-time updates are published at beaches.ie — always check it and local signage before swimming, particularly after heavy rain.
