Baile an Sceilg (Ballinskelligs)
About Baile an Sceilg (Ballinskelligs)
Ballinskelligs is a sweep of pale sand on the Iveragh Peninsula, looking out past a ruined McCarthy Mór tower house towards the Skellig islands on the horizon. A Gaeltacht beach holding both Blue Flag and Green Coast status, it offers gently shelving water for swimming and an easy walk backed by low dunes. Sitting on the quieter Skellig Ring, it draws far fewer crowds than the main Ring of Kerry, so there is room to breathe even in August. Calm, shallow water makes it a reliable choice for families.
