Doire Fhíonáin (Derrynane)
About Doire Fhíonáin (Derrynane)
Derrynane is a sheltered jewel of golden sand and clear water tucked into the rocky coast at Caherdaniel, beside Derrynane House, home of Daniel O'Connell. At low tide the sands link to Abbey Island and its ancient ruined church. A Blue Flag beach within Derrynane National Historic Park, it offers calm, safe swimming, rock pools and coastal walks through dunes and woodland. The clear water and hill-ringed setting make it one of the finest stops on the Ring of Kerry.
