About Trá na mBó
Trá na mBó is a hidden cove just west of Bunmahon, with a natural standing stone and the 'lion's head' island offshore, and volcanic colour running through the cliffs. The turn is a sharp, easy-to-miss one about 1.2km past Bunmahon; a narrow quiet laneway drops to a small parking area at the bottom. In another era, nuns were ferried down to this cove for private sea bathing. It is small, secluded and atmospheric — arrive early and leave no trace.
