About Kilcummin Strand
Kilcummin Strand is a quiet middle stretch of the unbroken Brandon Bay sands, lying between Fermoyle and Stradbally on the north side of the Dingle Peninsula. Part of the same 12-mile sweep that makes Brandon Bay the longest beach in Ireland, it is reached by local access roads off the Cloghane–Castlegregory road and rarely sees a crowd. It is a place for long walks, wide skies and the sound of the Atlantic rather than for facilities — there are none to speak of, and no lifeguard. The views across the bay to the Maharees and back to Mount Brandon are magnificent. As with the rest of Brandon Bay, currents can run on an open strand of this size, so anyone swimming should take local care and keep well within their depth.

Fermoyle, Kilcummin, Stradbally and Gowlane are four stretches of a single unbroken strand — the 12-mile sweep of Brandon Bay, the longest beach in Ireland — running from the foot of Mount Brandon near Cloghane round to the Maharees peninsula. On a low, falling tide you can walk mile after mile of it; always check the tide times and the currents before you set out.
