About Skerries South Beach

Skerries South Beach is the main strand of the lively sailing town of Skerries, a sandy beach curving along the south side of the harbour with views out to the islands. Shenick Island, with its Martello tower, sits offshore and can be reached on foot at low water — but mind the returning tide, which cuts the island off. The EPA classifies the water Excellent. It is a popular, well-loved family beach, close to the town's cafés, harbour and windmills, and a fine base for a coastal walk. As always, check the tide and local signage before swimming.
