About Zetland (Adrigole)

Zetland is a small sandy inlet beside Zetland Pier on Bantry Bay, tucked between Glengarriff and Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula. Its calling card is the water: on a clear, calm day the strikingly clear sea genuinely looks tropical, the line visitors return to again and again, with views out to Garinish West and Whiddy Island. It is signposted from the R572, about 1.5km down to the pier, with small pier-side parking. Despite its hidden setting it can be a busy little spot in good weather, so arrive early. There is no lifeguard, so swim with care on this quiet Beara shore. For a hidden West Cork swim with an almost Mediterranean look on the right day, Zetland is a memorable find.
