About Tullan Strand
Tullan Strand is a two-kilometre sweep of Atlantic sand running north from Bundoran to the mouth of the Erne, backed by cliffs and marked as a Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point. Above the beach stand the Fairy Bridges — natural sea arches — and the Wishing Chair, with the Dartry Mountains filling the horizon behind. It is one of the north-west's serious surf beaches, and the surf schools of Bundoran use it constantly; a free car park sits above the sand and fills fast on a good swell, with a paid option nearby. Sources are clear that the currents close to shore make it a poor choice for swimming or paddling, so it is best enjoyed as a surfers' and walkers' beach — check the local signage and the safety note above before you go near the water.
