Spanish Point
About Spanish Point
Spanish Point is a Blue Flag beach on the west Clare coast near Miltown Malbay, named for the Armada ships wrecked here in 1588. Lifeguarded in summer, it is a popular surfing and swimming beach with golden sand, rocky pools and reliable Atlantic waves. Backed by a links golf course and looking out to the open ocean, it has a wild, breezy character that draws surfers, walkers and families alike.
