About Kilfarrassey

Kilfarrassey is a quiet Green Coast beach near Annestown on the Copper Coast of Waterford, a sandy strand with rock pools and offshore sea stacks. There is no lifeguard, so swimming should be taken with care, but the dramatic Copper Coast geology, the clear water and the quiet setting make it a beautiful spot for a swim, a paddle or a coastal walk.

Kilfarrassey sits beneath cliffs some 460 million years old, and it is famed for the offshore rock stacks and islands scattered across the bay — a favourite of geologists on the Copper Coast UNESCO Geopark. The main beach is good for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking, and anglers fish the shore for bass. The cliffs are at their best at sunset.
