About Keel Beach, Achill Island

Keel is Achill Island's famous Blue Flag beach, a long three-kilometre sweep of golden sand backed by the dramatic Cathedral Rocks and the Minaun cliffs. Lifeguarded in summer, it is the island's surfing hub with reliable Atlantic waves and a long strand for walking. The village, dunes and the wild Achill landscape all around make it one of the great beaches of the west of Ireland.
