Harbour View
About Harbour View
Harbour View is a large open beach at the mouth of Courtmacsherry Bay and the Kilbrittain estuary, popular with swimmers, walkers and wind- and kite-surfers. In the 1980s it was a busy seaside resort, and crowds still gather at the Pink Elephant bar and restaurant beside the strand, but today it is a quieter kite-surf hub. It is a distinct beach from neighbouring Coolmaine, though the two link across the sand at low tide; some sources conflate them, so it is worth being clear they are separate. Parking is roadside along the strand road. There is no lifeguard, and strong currents are reported in the bay, so keep close to shore and swim with care.
