Golden Strand, Achill Island
About Golden Strand, Achill Island
Golden Strand at Dugort is a beautiful beach on the north shore of Achill Island, a sweep of golden sand beneath the cliffs of Slievemore. Lifeguarded in summer, it is a sheltered, family-friendly beach for safe swimming, with picnic spots and stunning mountain-and-sea views. Quieter than nearby Keel, it is a lovely spot to swim and relax on the Wild Atlantic Way.
