About Eyeries Strand

Eyeries Strand is a sheltered sand-and-gravel beach signposted from the famously colourful village of Eyeries on the Beara Peninsula, with gentle bathing that suits all ages and summer swimming lessons for local children. The Beara Way coastal walking loop passes right by the strand, so it pairs perfectly with a walk and a wander up to the village, whose rainbow-painted houses are among the most photographed in Ireland. Village parking is close by. There is no lifeguard, so keep an eye on children, but the calm, gentle water makes Eyeries one of the most relaxed family swimming spots on this quiet corner of West Cork.
