About Duncannon
Duncannon is a Blue Flag beach on the Hook Peninsula in south Wexford, a broad sandy strand beneath the historic star-shaped Duncannon Fort. Lifeguarded in summer with safe, gently shelving water and good accessible facilities, it is a popular family beach where you can drive onto the sand. The fort, the village and the nearby Hook Lighthouse drive make it a fine day out in the sunny south-east. It regained its Blue Flag in 2026.
