About Dugort Beach, Achill Island
Dugort is a Blue Flag beach on the north shore of Achill Island, a sweep of golden sand beneath the great cliffs of Slievemore mountain. Lifeguarded in summer with safe swimming and good access, it is a popular family beach with the Deserted Village and Slievemore walks close by. The mountain-and-sea setting on the Wild Atlantic Way makes it one of Achill's most scenic strands.
