About Cullenstown Strand
Cullenstown Strand is a long sandy beach east of Bannow Bay on the south Wexford coast, looking out to the Saltee and Keeragh Islands. A Green Coast Award beach, it has decent parking beside the sand with toilets on the west side of the car park, though it can turn stony after winter storms. At low tide you can walk the sand west to Blackhall beach and back. It sits beside history: the Normans made their first Irish landing in Bannow Bay next door in 1169, a year before Baginbun, and the clifftop path gives views from Baginbun Head round to Kilmore Quay. Look out for the old handball alley in the village. Unsupervised, so swim with care.
