About Cross, Erris Peninsula

Cross is a long Green Coast beach on the Mullet Peninsula in north-west Mayo, a sweeping dune-backed strand on the Atlantic side near the old abbey and graveyard. Unsupervised and exposed to the ocean, it is a wonderful place for long walks and surfing, though swimmers should take care. The vast sands, dunes and big Atlantic skies give it a wild, remote character on the Wild Atlantic Way.
