Carnivan Bay
About Carnivan Bay
Carnivan Bay is a cliff-enclosed sandy bay on the Ring of Hook, signed off the Fethard road right beside Baginbun, with parking on the headland above the sand. It is the Hook's bodyboarding beach: waves funnel between the enclosing cliffs, which the boards love. There is no lifeguard, so confident swimmers only and weak swimmers should take real care when there is any swell. Quiet and scenic, with a short coastal trek linking it round to Baginbun next door, it rewards a visit for the waves, the cliffs and the sense of being tucked away on the Hook Peninsula.
