About Broadstrand (Courtmacsherry)

Broadstrand is a sheltered, east-facing sandy cove about 1.4km from Courtmacsherry, where the water shelves gently and shallowly — which is why it is such a favourite with families and with a dedicated year-round swimming community. You can drive to the small car park at the end of a narrow, leafy lane, or take the insider’s route and walk the coastal path out from Courtmacsherry village, with the sea in front of you the whole way back. The car park is small and fills quickly on fine days. There is no lifeguard, so swim with care, but the calm, gradual water makes Broadstrand one of the friendliest swimming spots on this stretch of the West Cork coast.
