About Bray Beach (South Promenade)

Bray is the classic Victorian seaside resort, and its long shingle-and-pebble beach runs the full length of the seafront promenade beneath Bray Head. A short DART ride from Dublin, it is a proper day-out beach — a mile of prom to stroll, lifeguards on duty through the season, and the famous cliff walk to Greystones climbing away at the southern end. Parking runs along Strand Road, with a patrolled public car park at the north end near Martello Terrace. It is an EPA-designated bathing water rated Good for the 2025 season (consistently Good since 2022) — check beaches.ie for the current rating before you swim, particularly after heavy rain.
