Aughris Beach
About Aughris Beach
Aughris is an unspoiled swim-and-surf beach on west Sligo's Aughris Head, with the famous thatched Beach Bar tucked behind the dunes and a four-kilometre cliff loop walk running from the pier. There is no lifeguard, so swim with care, but on most days of the year you will have the place close to yourself. The full west-Sligo day out is here: seafood at the Beach Bar, pier jumping at Aughris pier and the clifftop loop with its sea-bird colonies and blowholes.
Nearby beaches
Dunmoran Strand, a quiet Green Coast beach, is a short way east along the coast.
